The City Commission legislative meeting agenda for 12/1/2020 has an item on it of concern: item #2. It's approving a settlement and release agreement with Duke for the loss of the three (3) honeylocust trees on Lee Street next to the substation. We don't know the details of the agreement, but it does show that Duke admitted fault or doesn't dispute their actions causing the death of the honeylocust. A win for Covington.
UPDATE: The Settlement Agreement is that Duke pays the City of Covington $7,500, removes and stumps grinds the three trees.
Rick has suggested that WAC get some commitment from the city that the $7,500 is spent on tree replacement on Lee (provided the soil is not contaminated) and the North side of West 13th Street.
Any thoughts?
